NEW ORLEANS - Brandon Jones, 14, and Riceidy Guerrero, 14, students at St. Ville Accelerated Academy for High School Preparation, sit behind the controls of a HH-65C Rescue Helicopter at Air Station New Orleans, here, Wednesday, April 30, 2008.

As part of the Coast Guard's Partnership in Education Program, St. Ville, along with Bunche Academy, toured the air station to learn what it would take to be a Coast Guard aviator. The Coast Guard, in support of the National and Community Service Act of 1990, designed the PIE program to enhance educational opportunities for the nation's youth.

The Coast Guard's comprehensive program places personnel in direct contact with students at the elementary and secondary levels. Coast Guard personnel volunteer their time and resources to help students develop to their full potential. Coast Guardsmen are involved in tutoring, classroom presentations, field trip sponsorship, mentoring, and enhancing schools' physical environments
