GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba -- Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas Morrell, an avionics electrical technician from Coast Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Ala., inspects part of the electrical system on the landing gear onboard a HU-25A Falcon jet Friday, May 2, 2008. Every three months a Falcon jet and crew from ATC Mobile deploys to patrol the waters off the Antilles as part of the Coast Guard's maritime safety and security mission. Each day crewmembers inspect the critical components aboard the Falcon to ensure that it is working at optimal performance levels. AETs inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems that perform communications, navigation, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and automatic flight-control functions.
