COAST GUARD TO DEDICATE "WILLIAM IMLE MEMORIAL TRAIL"

MOBILE, Ala. - The Coast Guard Aviation Training Center here is scheduled host a dedication ceremony Wednesday at 10 a.m.,  to celebrate the opening of the William Imle Memorial Trail, a new biking and hiking path on base grounds.

The trail was cleared out of the woods by volunteer Coast Guard members in honor of the late Coast Guard Cmdr. Bill Imle, retired, who died tragically while cycling in Baldwin county in August of 2007.

Imle retired in 2005, after 23 years of Coast Guard service.  He was a dedicated husband and father, a model Coast Guard officer, and an active member of the greater Mobile community through his church and volunteer work.  Invited friends and family of Cmdr. Imle are slated to attend the dedication; following the ceremony, all are welcome to put their skills to the test on the trail.

Refreshments will be provided.

Any media interested in attending, contact the ATC Mobile Public Affairs Office at (251) 533-9613.
