COAST GUARD SEARCHES FOR MISSING BOATERS

DESTIN, Fla. - The Coast Guard is searching today for two boaters who were reported missing in Choctawhatchee Bay here, late Sunday.

A watchstander from Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call from the boater's mother late Sunday reporting that Logan Alford, 17, and Lucas Alford, 21,  had not returned after they departed on their 14-foot aluminum boat early Sunday.

Sector Mobile launched a HH-65C rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans and a 25-foot smallboat and crew from Coast Guard Station Destin.

Also assisting in the search is the local sheriff's department and the Florida Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.
