FINAL UPDATE: COAST GUARD REOPENS OHIO RIVER | |
|
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Coast Guard reopened a section of the Ohio River from mile marker 306.5 to 307.5 this afternoon that had previously been closed due to downed power lines. The section of river was closed yesterday, after a barge-mounted crane reportedly struck high tension power lines, causing them to collapse and fall across the river.
Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Huntington launched a smallboat and crew to provide a safety zone for the closed section of the river. There are no restrictions on the previously closed section of river.
