COAST GUARD ESTABLISHES SAFETY ZONE ON ALLEGHENY RIVER FOR PITTSBURGH TRIATHLON AND ADVENTURE RACE | |

PITTSBURGH -- The Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Pittsburgh has established a safety zone on the Allegheny River for Sunday, July 20 in support of the Pittsburgh Triathlon and Adventure Race. Navigation is restricted for the entire width of the river from mile marker 0.0 to mile marker 1.0 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Persons and vessels shall not enter into, depart from, or move within the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Pittsburgh or a designated representative. Questions should be directed to Ensign Matt DeFusco at (412) 644-5808 ext. 2112 during normal working hours. After normal working hours, questions can be directed to (412) 670-4281.
