GULF STRIKE TEAM RESPONDS TO STORAGE FACILITY LEAK 

NEW ORLEANS - At the request of teh Coast Guard Sector New Orleans Federal On Scene Coordinator, members of the Gulf Strike Team (GST) are assisting members of Coast Guard Sector New Orleans today in removing oil and other hazardous materials from storage facilities owned by Cedyco Corporation in Jefferson Parrish, La.

The three separate storage facilities in Bayou Dupont, Bayou St. Dennis and Mud Lake are considered to be in poor condition and leaking oil. The Mobile, Ala., based GST members, Sector New Orleans and contractors are developing an incident action plan to lighter oil into barges.

The GST members are also providing site safety, cost documentation and monitoring evidence collection.
