COAST GUARD MEDEVACS CREWMEMBER FROM NAVY SHIP 

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas  The Coast Guard medevaced a 21-year-old man from a Navy ship 190-miles southeast of Corpus Christi, late this afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call at 12:35 p.m. reporting a crewmember from the Navy ship USS Chief, was suffering from stroke-like symptoms and needed medical attention.

Air Station Corpus Christi launched an HH-65C rescue helicopter crew and an HU-25 Falcon jet to assist.  The rescue helicopter crew hoisted the man and transported him to Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi. 

The man was reported to be in stable in condition.
