COAST GUARD MEDEVACS MAN 25-MILES OFF PORT ARANSAS, TEXAS

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Coast Guard medevaced a 56-year-old man from a charter fishing boat 25-miles east of Port Aransas, early this morning.

A watchstander at Sector Corpus Christi received a call at 2:07 a.m. from the crew of the charter fishing boat, La Pesca.  The crewmember reported that a man was suffering from a stroke and needed immediate medical attention.

Air Station Corpus Christi launched an HH-65C rescue helicopter crew to assist.  The rescue helicopter crew safely hoisted the man off the boat and transported him to Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi.

The man was reported to be in stable condition.
