Coast Guard medevacs injured crewman 

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a 45-year-old man today from an oil platform located approximately 50 miles southeast of New Orleans in Breton Sound.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received the call at approximately 11:25 a.m. from Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, reporting that a crewman aboard a vessel was experiencing heart attack symptoms and required medical evacuation.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a HH-65C rescue helicopter and crew to the scene and safely transported the crewman to West Jefferson Hospital.

The condition of the crewman is unknown.
